Wanted man sends police selfie to replace mugshot

A man who failed to appear in a drunk driving case in Lima, Ohio, is creating some unwanted attention for himself.

Instead of worrying about the serious charges he faces, the fugitive is apparently more concerned about how he looks in photos police posted of him on Facebook.

According to Fox59, 45-year-old Donald “Chip” Pugh sent police another picture –which he thought was ‘better’ than what they had.

“Here is a better photo that one is terrible,” he captioned on the newer shot. The updated selfie shows Pugh in dark sunglasses, with a dress coat on — while sitting in a car, with the sunroof shade open.

“He’s drawing more attention to himself, which is going to make it easier for us to locate him, because the more attention that this post garners the more people are going to see it, the more tips are going to come in about this guy.” said Lt. Andy Green with Lima PD.

Green had apparently spoken with Pugh on Wednesday, at which time he claimed he was out of state.

Green said, in addition to the failure to appear charge, Pugh is also a “person of interest” in an arson and vandalism case.

Police are hoping all the shares and likes on their Facebook page will either help them locate Pugh or convince him to “come to his senses” and turn himself in.
