A Texas calf is capturing the Internet’s attention after side-by-side photographs showed its uncanny resemblance to KISS rocker Gene Simmons.
Drew Taylor, who runs Texas marketing company Hill Country Visitor, posted a photo to Facebook showing the calf, which bears markings on its face that strongly resemble Simmons’ makeup while in his KISS stage persona, The Demon.
The calf also has her tongue hanging out, a trademark look for Simmons.
Taylor said the calf, dubbed Genie, was born on a Kerrville farm owned by a steakhouse employee.
“I didn’t realize how uncanny the comparison was until a friend put the two pictures side by side,” Taylor told The Huffington Post. “I said, ‘Can I have that picture? Can I use it?'”
The calf has come to the attention of Simmons, who tweeted out a link to a story about the calf along with the comment: “This is real, folks!!!”
Taylor said Genie’s owners have decided she will become a mascot for the steakhouse instead of someone’s meal.
“She’s too cute a calf,” he said.
