Dubai firefighter uses jetpack to tackle blaze

Who needs a firetruck when you can use a jetpack?

Further establishing its reputation as a modern, technologically advanced, and over-the-top city, Dubai is at it again with its latest additions to ensure fire safety. Firefighters will now have the option of using both water-powered jetpacks, called Dolphins, and/or jet skis to help take out blazes near bodies of water.

The video footage, released Sunday by the Dubai Civil Defence, reveals the innovative firefighting tools at work. According to ABC, the new methods were put into action to help “reduce response times as firefighters can get to the scene without battling heavy traffic on the roads.”
