A Buddhist monk buying lottery tickets at a Philadelphia gas station chased and struggled with a suspect who snatched his wallet containing $350 cash.
Police said the 61-year-old Buddhist monk was purchasing lottery tickets at the Sunoco station Jan. 3 when a man grabbed the monk’s wallet out of his hand.
The wallet contained about $350 cash, police said.
The monk chased the suspect into the parking lot, where a struggle ensued.
The suspect escaped, and the monk suffered a cut to the leg when he was pushed to the ground.
Police said the suspect fled in a dark silver Ford Mustang.
